Seven Tips for Best Stretching

  1. Consult with your physiotherapist to ensure you are targeting key areas and muscles
  2. Warm up before stretching to achieve best outcome
  3. Always apply correct technique by maintaining postural control and moving in deliberate planes of movement
  4. Sustain the stretch for 20 seconds and then stretch again to achieve best range – avoid bouncing
  5. Take the stretch to the point of mild discomfort only and respect pain
  6. Stretching after exercise as a warm down procedure can be very beneficial to recovery
  7. Stretch 7 days per week for 7 minutes each day to improve and maintain gains
